Atlas Shingle Repair: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Atlas-compatible shingle repair materials throughout Orlando, with most standard repairs running $350 – $750 installed depending on the number of shingles, the roof’s pitch, and whether underlayment or flashing needs attention. Crews are on the road in the Orlando metro most weekdays, and we carry Atlas Pinnacle and GlassMaster-matched colors on the truck. Most homeowners discover a failed Atlas shingle the hard way: a dark ceiling stain after an afternoon thunderstorm, granules piling up in the gutter, or a shingle tab flapping in the wind after a squall rolls through.
Atlas shingles are solid products. What fails around here isn’t usually the shingle itself. It’s the installation detail underneath it, the nail pattern, the seal strip that never got a proper bond, or a tree branch that dragged across the slope during one of those March wind events. We see it on College Park bungalows just as often as we see it out in the newer subdivisions near Lake Nona.
Which Atlas Models This Applies To
If you’ve got an Atlas roof in Orlando, you’re most likely dealing with one of three product lines: Atlas Pinnacle Pristine, Atlas GlassMaster, or the newer Atlas StormMaster Shake profile. Pinnacle Pristine is the most common on Central Florida homes, and it’s what we match most often. The key identification detail for Atlas specifically: the sealant strip runs along the top edge of the shingle with a distinctive darker dash pattern, and Pinnacle shingles carry a visible nailing zone printed on the face. If you can’t read the bundle label, measure the shingle’s exposed tab. Atlas Pinnacle runs a standard 5⅝-inch exposure, same as most architectural shingles, but the color blend is what trips people up: Atlas’s “Weathered Wood” is noticeably lighter than GAF’s or Owens Corning’s version of the same name. That’s why we always match against an actual shingle, not a photo on a phone.
OEM Atlas shingles are what we recommend when the roof is under ten years old and you want the repair to disappear. After that, a quality aftermarket match is usually fine, and honestly, sometimes easier to source quickly here in Orlando. Atlas distribution in Florida is good, but a discontinued color can take a week to special-order. We’ll tell you that before you commit to anything.
One compatibility gotcha worth knowing: Atlas StormMaster Shake has a different thickness profile than Pinnacle. You can’t mix the two on the same slope without a visible step. If you’ve got StormMaster Shake, the replacement has to be StormMaster Shake, full stop.
We’re an independent Orlando roofing contractor. We install and repair Atlas products, but we’re not affiliated with Atlas Roofing Corporation.

Signs Your Atlas Shingle Repair Is Failing
- Granules in the gutter or at the downspout. Atlas shingles shed a little surface granule early in life, but if you’re scooping a half-cup of granules out of a gutter every month, the asphalt layer is breaking down and the shingle is losing its UV shield. Florida sun accelerates this faster than almost anywhere else in the country.
- Curling or lifting tabs at the corners. This usually means the sealant strip has let go, often because the shingle was nailed too high or the installer didn’t press the bond in summer heat. Once a tab lifts, wind gets under it, and the next Orlando thunderstorm does the rest.
- A dark, soft spot on the ceiling below the roofline. Water is already getting past the shingle layer. By the time you see a stain inside, the leak has been working for weeks. The shingle may still look fine from the ground.
- Missing shingles after wind. Atlas shingles carry a 110 mph wind warranty on Pinnacle, but that’s assuming the shingle was properly nailed with six fasteners and a clean deck underneath. A shingle that blows off cleanly usually points to a nail pattern problem, not a shingle defect.
- Cracked or blistered shingle surface. Blistering looks like little pock marks across the granule face. It happens when moisture gets trapped under the shingle during installation or when attic ventilation is poor, turning the shingle into a tiny oven.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Orlando, a straightforward Atlas shingle repair (one to three shingles, no structural rebuild beneath) runs $350 – $550 installed. If the repair area includes a valley, a vent pipe boot, or a section of step flashing, expect $500 – $750. The price difference comes down to time and access: a first-story 4/12 pitch roof is a quick job. A second-story 8/12 pitch with a steep ladder setup and a safety harness adds labor.
Every quote is written and line-itemed before any work starts. The price on the page is the price on the invoice. No change orders, no “once we got up there we found” surprise. If we do find something once we get up there, we stop, we take a photo, and we send it to you with a revised number before we touch anything. That’s how we’ve run Crestview since Dylan Pace started the company, and it’s how we still run it today.
A standard Atlas shingle repair replaces the damaged shingles, resecures the surrounding tabs, checks the underlayment, and takes before-and-after photos you’ll receive by text. The work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair fails within a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s in writing, on every repair, no exceptions.
DIY or Call Us?
A homeowner can safely do two things: identify the damage from the ground with a pair of binoculars, and clear debris from the gutter if it’s reachable from a stepladder. What we don’t recommend is walking an Orlando roof by yourself, especially in July when the shingle surface can hit 160 degrees, or after rain when the granules turn the surface into ball bearings. One slipped foot on a steep pitch is a hospital visit or worse. If you want to inspect the slope yourself anyway, wear soft-soled shoes, use a proper roof ladder, and never work above a second-story eave without a harness. We’re happy to talk you through what to look for over the phone, and we’d rather do the climbing.
FAQs
Atlas Pinnacle and GlassMaster shingles carry a 30-year or limited-lifetime warranty, but in Central Florida’s heat, sun, and storm cycle, the realistic service life is closer to 15 – 20 years before you’re repairing more than replacing. If your roof is past year 18 and you’re doing a second or third repair this season, call us at (448) 218-0800 and we’ll give you an honest read on whether repair still makes sense or whether replacement is the better money.
A single shingle can absolutely be replaced when the damage is isolated. The challenge is color-matching and seal-strip integration, which is exactly what we do. The repair only becomes a section replacement when the shingles around it are so brittle that disturbing them breaks the seal and creates three new problems. We’ll tell you which situation you have before we write the quote.
Most single-slope shingle repairs take 45 – 90 minutes on site. The bigger variable is scheduling, not labor. We’ll give you a live trackable arrival time before the crew comes, so you know exactly who is showing up and when. Call (448) 218-0800 and we’ll get you on the schedule.
We stock the most common Orlando Atlas Pinnacle colors on the truck and can source any current Atlas product through our local supplier within a few days. You never need to buy materials yourself. The part, the labor, and the warranty all come through one written quote from us.
If your Atlas shingle is failing and you want a straight price instead of a sales pitch, call (448) 218-0800 to schedule your free estimate. A live person answers, day or night. If it’s not in writing, it’s not a promise – it’s just weather talk.
